Day 1:
ANATOMY
of a Web Site

We’ll evaluate Wen’s current sites and explore why they are successful. We’ll cover what has not worked as well! You’ll have an introduction to the processes, web editors, and uses of a web site. If you already have a site, this is a great opportunity to receive a site evaluation! Or if you are considering a site, this is the ultimate opportunity to create a successful site without “trial and error”!

We will explore browser capabilities, design issues, HTML, choosing an Internet Provider, and adding e-commerce to a site.

Day 2:
WEB DESIGN
and Creating Images (Scanning) For Your Site

WEB MAINTENANCE
Updating Your Site

Through demonstration and hands-on assignments, you’ll learn the basic principles of web design. You will either create or update your own two page site ready for uploading.

In this session you will gain a better understanding of the scanning process. This is a hands on session, so bring images to scan! Topics include scanner operation, resolution output choice, improving the quality of your images (sharpening, contrast, color, & removal of imperfections), and an introduction to PhotoShop.

Wen will demonstrate an actual download and upload of her site, taking the fear out of working on your own site! Learn to create “client friendly” pages and keep clients coming back to your site. This session includes further discussions on adding e-commerce pages (wedding gift registry and frames) to your site. You will experience the process of "pre-designed" pages and adding them to your site (and update them, too). If you have purchased webbyiMAGES pre-designed pages (gift registry, children's photojournalism, bar/bat mitzvah photojournalism, etc. pages) you can upload them to your site. Wen will show you how to make changes on these pre-designed pages too!

Now you are ready to pull it all together and actually work on your site, or create one. Spend the day actually working on your site, with Wen’s supervision. If you have a site, Wen will evaluate and critique your site with you. You'll have hands on experience with scanners, image software, and web editors. We will burn your site onto CD format, and you can take it home for further development.
